Welcome to the website of the Inner Sydney Regional Council.
We are a community based organisation that is located in South Sydney and operates throughout the Inner and Eastern Sydney Region.
We are interested in, and active upon, issues arising in inner and eastern Sydney that affect quality of life of people living in the region. We have a commitment to social justice, so we are particularly interested in the wellbeing of people who are disadvantaged.
A look around this site will provide you with information about our region, what we do, our history, current issues, our projects, links to community service organisations and about our magazine, 'Inner Sydney Voice'.
Invitation to the Marg Barry Lecture for 2011. This year Inner Sydney Regional Council has combined the lecture with its photographic social history project. We have over 30 years of photos and slides that are soon to be archived by the City of Sydney. We are going to exhibit the photos in the hope that some of you remember the places and faces in them , so the content can be identified before archiving.
Whether you have been around the social and community development scene in Inner Sydney for years or are newly arrived, you are welcome to join us for the lecture and the exhibition on Friday 7th October 5pm at Redfern Townhall.
